Combatting Poverty and Racial Inequities

Friday, November 19 the culinary skills program held its first graduation with 15 out of the original 16 members completing the 8 week course. At the event pictures of the students at work in classes were shared on screen and graduates shared their favorite parts of the course. Certificates and gift bags were distributed to all participants. Some of the students will be place on a preferential hiring list with Compass for new operations opening at Google. Plans are being made to expand the program and start a Taft Hartley Fund with employer contributions to bring more resources to the training program.
