María Gómez has been a proud member of UNITEHERE Local 100 since 2000. María currently serves as a Trustee and an elected Shop Steward, representing her coworkers with dedication and care. Known for her collaborative spirit, María is recognized for empowering those around her and fostering unity in the workplace. To María, respect and dignity are the most valuable achievements the Union brings to its members.

As a Shop Steward, María works closely with committees and fellow stewards to ensure the proper implementation of the Union contract. “As a Shop Steward and committee member, I always represent my coworkers. I encourage them to attend Union meetings and actively participate in all Union activities. I see this as part of my responsibility as a leader.”

One of the most impactful developments in recent years has been the FMCS (Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service) training. María was recognized by Council Member Shaun Abreu as a Woman leader.
