Gerard Cerda has worked as a Food & Merchandise Commissioned Vendor for Madison Square garden for over 20 years. Working at the Madison Square Garden has given him the opportunity to witness and experience first hand many exciting events in sports and entertainment. For many of those years he has been a Shop Steward for his department and a member of the Negotiating Committee for Local 100.
Gerard has also worked for Restaurants Associates at the US Open and for Levy’s at Barclays and was also involved at both these shops in Contract Negotiations to insure a fair and equitable contract. At Local 100 he is involved in the Political Action Committee and has served in the Election Committee and Health Care Committee.
Gerard is a product of New York City’s Public Schools system, graduating from LaGuardia High School for Music and Arts and the Performance Arts and majored in Political Science at City College of the City University of New York with a Minor in History.
As one of the newest members on the Executive Board, Gerard is excited to be given the opportunity to serve and work hard to ensure a healthy and transparent Union that will serve the needs of all its members.
