Pursuant to the provisions of Article 5 of the bylaws of Local 100 and Articles 8 and 10 of the Constitution of UNITE HERE, this is the official notice of the nomination and election of officers of Local 100.
Nominations will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the regular membership meetings scheduled for 9:30 am, 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm. The meetings will be held at the offices of UNITE HERE Local 100, 275 7th Ave, 16th Floor, New York. All members in good standing may attend and make nominations.
Nominations will be for the office of President/Business Manager, Secretary Treasurer, 16 members of the Executive Board and 3 Trustees.
Members, in order to be eligible to be nominated, must be present at the nomination meeting or must have submitted by certified mail (return receipt requested) a written statement which must be received by the Secretary Treasurer prior to the opening of nominations, indicating their willingness to accept the nomination if their name is proposed. The statement may be sent to the Secretary Treasurer at UNITE HERE Local 100, 275 7th Ave, 16th Floor, New York 10001. In addition, in order to be eligible to be nominated for office a member must have been an active member in continuous good standing for a period of twenty fourth (24) months ( May, 2022 – April 2024) immediately preceding the month of the election, and must be employed or available for employment in Local 100’s jurisdiction, or be an officer or employee of Local 100 or UNITE HERE International Union. The election committee shall pass on the eligibility of all candidates and their decisions shall be subject to appeal to the President of UNITE HERE. The term for all offices is three years. No members may be nominated for more than one office when such offices conflict. A nomination does not require a second. No write-in votes will be permitted.
A request to run as a slate must be submitted in writing to the election committee no later than May 18, 2024 and must include candidates for two thirds of the separate offices or positions to be filled and at least eight (8) candidates for Executive Board and two (2) candidates for Trustee.
The election will be held on Tuesday, May 28th 2024. The polls shall be open from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm in the following locations:
- Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, and Staten Island: UNITE HERE Local 100, 275 7th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001
- La Guardia Airport, JFK Airport, and Nassau and Suffolk counties: UNITE HERE Local 100, 135-27 Lefferts Boulevard, South Ozone Park, Queens NY 11420
- New Jersey: UNITE HERE Local 100, 60 Park Place, Suite 303, Newark, New Jersey 07102
- Westchester and Rockland Counties:
Grand Roosevelt Ballroom, 2 Hudson Street, Yonkers, New York 10701
- Upstate Sage University: Best Western Plus: 1 4th Street, Troy NY 12180

Members may vote at any location. All active members in good standing on the day of the election shall be eligible to vote. To be in good standing, dues must be paid through March, 2024. To vote, a member must show at the polling place a piece of identification with the member’s picture. Any member who is reinstated on the date of the election is eligible to vote upon presenting the election committee a receipt signed by a bonded officer or employee of the Union showing that their dues are paid through March, 2024. The dues department will be open from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm on Election Day at the three Union offices: Members will be able to pay their dues online in our local 100 website “unithere100.org” by debit or credit cards.

Ballots will be counted starting at 8:30 pm in the Local 100 office, 275 7th Avenue New York, NY 10001.
Any candidate shall have the right to have one observer at the polls and at the counting of the ballots. All observers must be active members in good standing of Local 100. The installation of officers will be on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
