UNITE HERE Local 100 Secretary Treasurer, Jose Maldonado, visited San Juan for the SOMOS Puerto Rico Conference. This conference is dedicated towards uniting the Latino community, raising awareness, advocating and elevating social consciousness on public policy in collaboration with the New York State Assembly and Senate Puerto Rican and Hispanic Task Force. SOMOS also works to ensure the upward mobility of Latino youth through educational empowerment, mentoring programs and scholarships.
