Political Action Committee (PAC) Programimg_5708

Every day we face corporations who spend millions to fight us on issues we care about- the right to join a union, health care, health and safety on the job. By contributing to the Political Action Committee fund, you can help elect union members to office, pass pro-worker laws, win the right to join a union for more workers and ensure that we can support good candidates or defeat those who work against us.

On Tuesday, November 22, 2016 UNITEHERE! Local 100 announced their endorsement for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for his second term.

“I am proud to accept UNITEHERE! Local 100’s endorsement for re-election,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. “UNITEHERE! has a strong history and tradition of standing up for the men and women in our food service industry and hospitality industries, a cornerstone of our city’s economy. It has been an honor to earn this support, and I’m eager to continue our work together to make a stronger and fairer New York City for all.”

Secretary Treasurer of UNITEHERE! Local 100, Jose Maldonado, highlighted the mayor’s accomplishments saying, “A lot of things have happened in the last 4 years.  We have universal free pre-K, crime is down and we are a safer city than ever before.”

The most recent accomplishment being the Worker Retention Bill. “One of the biggest things for all of us is every time a new employer takes over some contractors want to kick us out. The mayor signed the Worker Retention Bill so that it cannot happen anymore. There are so many things we can say about our mayor but we are here for him today, tomorrow and for the future. We are 100% committed to Bill de Blasio”
